DANIEL Brian Edward of Derry Hill passed away peacefully at Bath RUH on Monday 20 January. Husband to Brenda for 63 years and a much-loved father to Sharon and Susan, grandfather to Lois, Daniel, Carl & Lucy and great grandfather to Maisy and Esther. He will be remembered as a golfer, a cricket fan and a jazz enthusiast but, most of all, he will be remembered as a true gentleman who enjoyed all the good things in life. Funeral service will take place on Thursday 6 February at Semington Crematorium at 1.45pm. Donations to the Bath Royal United’s Forever Friends Appeal and Dorothy House are welcome c/o A.P McDonald Funeral Services, The Chequers, High Street, Devizes, SN10 1AT Tel:01380 698188

Brian was our friend for almost 30 years. Met through Golf, we played at North Wilts, but enjoyed many trips to Saunton in Devon. cricket was a shared passion and a few of us enjoyed many years as Somerset Members. We also travelled the length of England to watch our team. Jazz was all a shared joy and with Brenda, myself and Chris, enjoyed many venues and times away.

Brian was great fun, he and Brenda packed in a lot in their lives and we are privileged to have spent some of it with them. It will be strange at future times. A wonderful positive man and a force for good. Very successful with Junior Golf and administration at National level.

I could go on, but suffice to say he did good in his life and was always great to be with. He so wanted Somerset to win the County Championship. We will always remember his company and his example. Rest in Peace
