In loving memory of Joe Morris who sadly passed away on 27th December 2019.

Dearly loved husband of Louisa, son of Kevin and Clare, and brother of Dom and Paul.

With the true flare for dramatic timing that he always possessed, my beautiful husband Joe Morris died at St Christopher’s Hospice in the early hours of 27th December 2019. He was 34. He was with me, his mum and dad, and slipped away whilst Paranoid Android, by his favourite band Radiohead, was playing.

Joe was diagnosed with Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma in January 2017 and right up until the end, he was absolutely determined that he was going to beat his disease. He was so interested and involved with his new treatments and research at the Royal Marsden - it really tickled his big, clever brain that he was becoming part of that research and that through him, more answers might be given about this horrific disease.

Joe was someone who always saw the potential in people and the possibilities of life: full of big ideas and grand plans. He did so much in his short life: travelling all over the world and creating films, documentaries, animations, music videos and other visual wonders.

Of course he wanted to do so much more.

He was a ‘sure, why not?!’ man, endlessly open-minded and irreverent; a passionate advocate for the underdog and a fierce critic of the injustices he saw in life. He loved his friends and would drop anything if they were in need; and, as the original FOMO guy, he had so many stories of fun and escapades.

He was also bloody funny and one of the most generous people I have met. And so, so kind. A real gentle man. Of course not to forget as a brilliant Dad to our 'son', Kubrick the Cat!

For myself, he was my best friend, the person who knew me and loved me better than anyone else. We were together for 12 years, married for 3 and half and life without him seems completely ludicrous. It feels like a huge hole has been ripped out of me. I suppose it has.

Or as Joe would probably say: sh*t, f*ck, c**t, bollocks…!

Joe’s funeral will take place on the 21st January at Honor Oak Crematorium, London, at 2.30pm, followed by the wake at our local pub, The Honor Oak. Joe liked nothing better than a good old knees up, so myself and his family would love to see you, to chat about your memories of Joe and to raise a glass (or 3!) to remember him.

Family flowers only, please. Donations in memory of Joe can be made in aid of Shelter and Oracle Cancer Trust.

RIP (with added fun and a touch of chaos to go with the peace!) Joe Joe, I love you xx

I'd only known Joe for a few years, but somehow he always made you feel like an old friend. A rare and special quality.
