In loving memory of Jenny Brooks who sadly passed away on 14th December 2019
Jenny was born at King’s Mill hospital to proud parents Hilda and Alan and brother Stephen. Jenny attended Farmilow Primary School and then Queen Elizabeth’s in Mansfield. She enjoyed practical subjects like cookery and needlework. Leaving school at 16 Jenny got her first job just down the road at Glenmeade Textiles on Medan Square. And it was 4th October 1986 when Jenny and Martin got married at a service at St. Barnabas Church in Pleasley they had also bought their first home on Winthorpe Street at Ladybrook in Mansfield. In 1994 Jenny and Martin moved to what is their present home at Booth Avenue Pleasley. Jenny went on to work at various concessions in the Co-Op in Mansfield, including Danamac, Ann Harvey, and Dash. Jenny took driving lessons, in secret at first, to surprise Martin. She failed the first two but passed 3rd time. That was the thing with Jenny. She was determined, strong, and didn’t give up. Jenny always put everybody’s needs before her own. Even when she was ill and struggling Martin always got his dinner on the table after work, her mum always got to go shopping and she ensured Stephen’s affair’s were in order. Her strength to carry on was amazing and her determination was acknowledged by everyone. Jenny saw many different consultants and usually their first comments were “You’ve been through a lot haven’t you?
And yes. There have been many different treatments, at lots of different hospitals by various departments and Jenny still had the strength to find a witty word or two that kept everyone smiling.
While we will all miss Jenny we can take a moment to remember the happy times, and let’s remember with a smile.

We were very sorry to hear of Jenny’s illness and now, very sadly, her passing. We remember her as a sunny and kind person with a lovely smile and the image of her mum., Hilda. My dad ( Jenny’s uncle and Hilda’s brother , Albert, was very fond of her and I hope that they can meet again in another life.
