In loving memory of Margaret Kelly who sadly passed away on 3rd December 2019 .

Margaret was the first born child to proud parents John and Mary Henderson on 1st March 1941. Margaret attended Thompson Street primary School and went onto Uddingston Grammar High School. Shortly after leaving school, at age 15, the family moved to Minnesota, USA, for 18 months. This is where Margaret’s love for travelling started. She worked in Minnesota Mining Manufacturing Company before moving back to Scotland to work in Goldbergs. Margaret progressed quickly from Line Desk Manager to the Fraud Manager with Roy Scott Finance Services.

It was while working in Goldbergs at the age of 17 when Margaret met her soul mate James (Jimmy) Kelly. They married on 12th January 1965 and moved into their fist home in 50 Budhill Avenue, Springboig, Glasgow.

In her spare time Margaret loved reading books and listening to music, with Rod Stewart being one of her favourites. She would often spend hours in her garden and also enjoyed cheering on her football team (Celtic) when they were on the T.V. She loved socialising - usually with a glass of red wine, gin or champagne in hand. Margaret also loved to go holiday with her favourite destination being America where she would shop until she dropped. She was generous to a fault as most of the things she bought was gifts for others as it brought her great happiness to spoil her loved ones. At the end of each trip she would need to buy an extra suitcase or two to bring everything home.

Margaret’s favourite past time was to spend time with and spoil her friends and family. She was a doting Aunt to Stephen and loved nothing more than spending time with his three children Rebecca, Alex and Reece.

She was such a kind and caring person who touched the hearts of everyone that she met. Although it was her determination and stubborn streak that gave her the strength to fight cancer until the end.
