Bill You are Not forgoten on this your Special Day.
Prayers and fondest memories from an old and grateful friend.

Dear Ella and Anna, I was very saddened to learn of Dr Bill Cox passing away, we both graduated from the Corrosion and Protection Center at UMIST, about the same time; but stayed in touch largely through work; at one period at the same company, although he in the UK and I in Texas. And so we often exchanged valuable experiences in the corrosion management field. With him settling in the Coventry/Rugby area (my old school boy years) I joked about him now being a Midlander like myself- though yes he was always a proud Yorkshire man! I always felt Bill was professionally way ahead of his time, and liked his exemplary confidence, and ability to push the knowledge window. He was indeed a true gent, and will be missed by us all - RIP dear Bill.
Note: Also many thanks to Dave and Hannah Moore for diligently reaching out to many of Bills friends and colleagues ( scattered all over the world) and helping coordinate matters at this very difficult of times. Kind regards to all.

Our deepest condolences, Bill was a very straight talking, kind, generous with his advice and time, funny guy. I learned a lot from the interactions with Bill from the time the I first met Bill back in 2003. He is one of the guys who inspired me to pursue my career within the Oil & Gas Industry in the field of Corrosion Management. Rest In Peace Bill. God Bless you Bill and your lovely family Ella and Anna.

Bill was one of a kind - fun, generous, loving and always a Yorkshireman. The world was a better place with him in it xxx

My most striking memory of Bill is a hundred mile an hour midnight ride through Birmingham underpasses on the back of that 1100cc monster he had at the time. A truly unforgettable experience. The next time I met Bill he was monitoring corrosion. One of his largely unheralded successes was promoting CML technology to solve Ashlock corrosion. Another unforgettable experience. Most years Gill and I used to bump in to Bill at NACE. Always the corrosion man, but it was never long before the conversation turned to Anna and Ella. Even thousands of miles away, doing what he loved, Bill’s thoughts were never far from his family. I’ll miss you Bill, rest in peace.

I first met Bill shortly after I arrived in Manchester/UMIST in 1983. Even then he was a font of practical wisdom to the callow youth that I was and I am eternally grateful for his early advice. Kindly, free in sharing his ideas and thoughts, always straight talking and straight doing, he will be greatly missed.

I want to express my deepest sympathy for the sudden passing of Bill. He was a great friend; a friendship that started during our graduate school days at UMIST. He always was able to express interesting opinions and creative ideas on any subject. As a result I have many fond memories from those times. Like many of his friends and associates I was extremely fortunate to have known him. Please accept Mitra and I's deepest condolences.

Bill was a generous man, often giving the distilled knowledge of decades and asking nothing in return. Whenever I approached Bill for guidance, help or support he was always quick and generous with his response. I only began to understand just how many lives he had influenced, for the better, when I was asked to contact his friends around the world for their thoughts about his passing.
His understanding of the oil and energy Industry and the world of corrosion was truly extensive. He knew and was friends with many hundreds of the people involved in the corrosion prevention and management sectors at every level.
I miss Bill now; I will continue to miss him for many years to come.
I know I am not alone in thinking that the world of corrosion has lost a true ambassador and a very good friend.

Anna, on behalf of all ex-Capcis staff, please accept my sincere condolences for the loss of Bill. He was an inspiration to many of us during his time at Capcis and extremely highly regarded within the "corrosion community". A very sad time.

Anna, sincerest condolences; myself and Alex were shocked and saddened on hearing that Bill had passed away. I owe Bill so much for what he did for me during my career; one of the greats. You and Ella are in our thoughts at this very difficult time. Best wishes from Kev and Alex Lawson.
