In loving memory of Herbert ( Bert) Tipple to us Dad and Grandad who sadly passed away on 25th November 2019 aged 79 years peacefully at Wheatfields Hospice. Dad grew up under the shadow of the Second World War in the village of Middleton in Leeds with brother Norman, Sisters Glady's Mary, Hilda, Ethel and Hazel. He loved sport playing rugby for Hunslet and with an interest in Cars, Motorbikes and Horses, shaping his future life. The later of which introduced him to Mum, Winnie and a group of close friends including John Grey and Peggy Hill who remained close until ill health got in the way over the years. Dad and Mum moved to Morley and bought their first house in 1963, children followed, Nigel in 1964 and Jane in 1966 both of whom enjoyed the freedom of youth, excelled in sport and went on to shape their lives free of parental pressure. Bert followed his love of rugby into coaching at Morley RFC and later running touch regularly at Scatchard Lane for the 2'nds and enjoying a beer afterwards. Bert became Grandad to 6 grandchildren Adam, John, Thorne, Troy, Brooke and Courtney all much loved. Dads later years were punctuated by Ill health but along with Mum by his side for over 56 years they continued their love affair with the Filey on the east cost, having bought their first caravan in 1965, we finally closed down their last in October 2019 some 54 years later. Dad and Mum were pretty much inseparable for over 56 years, as was their relationship with their Dogs from Juno in the 60's Topper in the 70's through to Casey, Shandy and Misty today, most rescued or adopted with an infectious enthusiasm. Dad will be missed, but we should all remember the good times, our memories will never fade if we remember to share them. Sleep tight Dad, your at peace now and no longer in pain, your time to relax until we meet again !
