Peacefully at the Royal Edinburgh Hospital on October 29 2019. Jimmy, beloved husband of Greta, loving dad of Linda and Jim, father in law to Ian and Sue, proud grandad to Mathew, Leanne, Gavin and Danny, great grandad to Aaron, Josh and Ben

All are welcome to attend the service at Seafield Crematorium. Family flowers only please, but donations can be made, in aid of Alzheimer Scotland.

Jimmy was a very keen cyclist in the early 50s, he and my Mum (Greta) would cycle all over Scotland. Then the kids came along and that put that on hold. Our Dad still continued to cycle back and forth to work as a joiner. We all lived happily in our home in Drumbrae Cresent, where we had fantastic neighbours, truly a traditional community where we would all look out for one another. From there we moved to Bedford Terrace, Joppa. This was my Dads dream house which, he had a major input designing and constructing a wonderful family home. This was all made possible with the help of friends, especially Davey Trotter who spent hour upon hour assisting my Dad during construction. The only payback was that he would receive a couple of pints, just before closing time. Sometimes this didn't happen as they worked in to the night.

My sister and I eventually left home and Mum & Dad had time to enjoy holidays together, cruising was there favourite.

Before long there were Grand children, in the shape of Mathew and Leanne, Mum & Dad relished the opportunity to spend time with them. Move on another few years and Gavin & Danny joined the family. There were many times when all four kids were at the house at the same time, but his didn't phase the "auld yins" at all, again they tell us they really enjoyed having them.
