Dr Cullis was my family GP for a number of years while I lived in Swindon, I moved away in 2001 but later in life I obtained a copy of my medical records and there was a few things in there that he had written but u could not decipher his handwriting so made contact with him and he invited me to his home, he was very understanding and his memory was fantastic at recalling events from my childhood over 30years ago at the time.. he even took me for lunch! He was a very kind man and helped me overcome and understand an issue I had at the time, he gave me life changing advice that I carry with me to this day along with a copy of his published version of The Holy Bible. God bless Dr Cullis and his family for everything he done for me, I shall never forget his words of advice and help, I found this obituary by accident and it saddened me deeply

I found this after I remember my dear parents mentioning Jeffrey Cullis from their years long ago living in Highworth. They spoke of him most fondly and I am sure they have all been reunited in glory .

I was sad to hear of the passing of Dr Cullis. But so thrilled to hear that he was aged 93 when he passed.

I was so lucky to have been his Practice Manager for nearly 10 years! During that time he taught me so much, he even paid for my Management course in London.

A few years later I was asked to speak at the Royal College of GPs on the role of the Doctors Receptionists. I was terrified but Dr Cullis insisted I did it and took me to London to make sure that I did!

He was challenging to work for we argued a lot and had lots of debates ! But he was caring and oh so sincere he was a very special man.

When I left the surgery to run a larger practice he gave me a leaving party and told everyone that the Practice was losing its mother, I was only around 26 years of age! He went on to say I was a big fish in a little pond and it was time for me to move on. I will never forget that night. I cried all the way home because I would not be working for him anymore.

I saw him a few times after I left, he came to talk to my father when he was dying and he was such a comfort to him.

I have worked for many doctors since those days, but none have measured up to him. I am grateful to have known him and will never forget him.

I was so pleased to be able to attend his funereal today. It was simply wonderful. The grandchildrens presentations where so moving and brought back so many memories. Harveys singing was magical ! Dr Cullis daughters and sons are all grown up I wouldn't have recognised them!

Dr Cullis would have been moved and so proud of you all today..

I send my thought and love to all of the Cullis family for the loss of such a wonderful man.

With Love

Sandra
