Mike was indeed a good man, quirky, eccentric, genuine and I enjoyed working with him at the Robert Sutton School. I enjoyed his friendship and support and some good hill walking with him.

I have always had a great respect for Mike and the contribution he gave to motivate my love of learning. I too am now a teacher and can appreciate the work he put in to make his subject come alive. I will never forget the North Wales Field Study trip for my GCSE Geography. Rest easy now brother.

Mike was my geography teacher at Robert Sutton. Always made lessons fun and interesting. I am also a geography teacher now and put this down to Mike’s inspiration for the subject and profession. Rest in Peace.
