In loving memory of Roselyn Lenis who sadly passed away on 5th September 2019 aged 47 Years. The entire Nyuyse`s and Lenis`s family wish to thank everyone for their pouring tributes, messages, heartfelt consoling words and calls, that have made us find reason to celebrate the life of an angel - Roselyn.
Roselyn Benolirao Lenis was born on May 6, 1972 to Dulcisimo Lenis and the late Rita Lenis. She was raised in a mining community in DAS, Toledo City, Cebu Philippines with four other siblings: her older brothers Jowinito and Ronaldo, younger brother Renante, and younger sister Louella.

Growing up, Roselyn loved to dance and perform in the community fiestas and in school programs and plays. She had a knack for drawing when she was younger, and she participated in a few art contests in her elementary years. She was an active Girl Scout who trained the younger scouts in school. She was an avid reader of fiction books, with romance novels as her favorite. She also developed a passion for baking, and loved to bake cakes and pastries for family and friends.

Roselyn graduated with a Bachelor of Nursing degree from Velez College in Cebu, Philippines in 1994. She did volunteer work at her hometown’s community hospital for two years. She took a break from her nursing job and worked overseas at an electronics company in Hsinchu shin, Taiwan from 1998-2001. She went back home at the end of her contract, and renewed her nursing career at Cebu Doctor’s Hospital for a year.

In 2007, Roselyn left the Philippines to look for greener pastures in London, UK. She worked in Catchpole Court Nursing Home, Sudbury Suffolk under Craegmoor Healthcare Limited and subsequently Four Seasons Healthcare Limited from 2007 till 2016. She was known for her good work ethics, dependability, competence, empathy and good interpersonal skills.

Roselyn loved her family, especially the love of her life, Cyril Fomonyuy, and their lovely daughter, Ethelmer Khaelin Fomonyuy. She was a loving wife, partner, friend, mate and a nurturing mother. She was a filial daughter to her parents, a good sister to her siblings and in-laws, a caring aunt to her nephews and nieces, a kind cousin to her relatives, and a loyal pal to her friends, both old and new. She was a spiritual person who loved God, and kept her devotion to the Santo Niño of Cebu. She truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures: spending time with family and friends, traveling, chatting, cooking and baking. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

An Empty Chair

We gather here a class once more
To reminisce like years before
Upon the days and joys we knew
Before our school-age time was through
Yet as we meet with memories near
We think of those always held dear
Our friends and classmates passed away
To be with God and enjoy their day.

Until that hour when we join again
An empty chair we will maintain
In honor of the life-long bond
We forged with those now passed beyond
The friends with whom we learned life’s truths
Whose bond lasted far from our youth
And shall remain forever near
When we gather from year to year.
