Just found out my close friend has died after her long brave fight. Val told me that we were on a list of friends to invite to the funeral and we confirmed our contact details with her, unfortunately no one contacted us to let us know. I am so sorry Val, but at least it explains why we couldn't get hold of you. Val and I regularly phoned and emailed, even after we moved to Devon. Matt and I did wonder if she had unfortunately passed away due to no replies from email.
Have so many wonderful memories; singing in the car with me on morning of my Wedding, you even looked after my hamster once for me. Hearing her stories of Squeeze and festivals 'fans carrying fans!' Going to Salsa club every week with her. Going on holiday to Minehead with her at Spring Harvest, where we met Tim Vine, our trip to Isle of Wight, meeting up for gigs at local Pub with Matt. Last time we spoke, we were planning to collect you for you to stay in Devon with us. You would have loved it here, especially you knew as we were close to big concert venue in parkland on the coast. We wanted to go to the 80s bands weekend there but you were too poorly.
I wish we could have said goodbye. We ended that last phone call with 'love you.' Matt and I take comfort from knowing you are finally in peace.
