In loving memory of Werner Ullrich who sadly passed away on 11th August 2019 (aged 88 years) in Nottingham, United Kingdom.

The funeral service will be held at Bramcote Crematorium in Nottingham on Thursday 22nd August at 15.00 with Reverend David Stevenson officiating. A W Lymn - Hucknall are handling the funeral arrangements.

Werner was born in Hamburg - Germany to Ellen and Kurt Ullrich on the 4th August 1931. He completed his schooling and tertiary education in Hamburg and at the age of 20 then left to do his tiling apprenticeship in Port Elizabeth South Africa, where he lived for 60 years. He was a tiler for 30 years, he then went on to perfect his own formula to make tile adhesive which then lead him on to open his own tile adhesive manufacturing company.

Although being German, Werner always considered himself a South African, he loved South Africa, especially Jeffreys Bay where he retired and lived a number of years with his wife Syrene (who passed away on 20th August 2008) and their dog Jonty (who passed away on the 19th February 2014). Werner immigrated to Nottingham, the United Kingdom on the 4th May 2011 to live near his daughter Tanya.

Tanya would like to extend her heartfelt gratitude and thanks to Moorlands Nursing home and their staff who took the utmost care while looking after Werner for the duration of his stay with them. They are amazing people who loved and cared for Werner and this was clearly evident whenever Tanya visited. He was very happy there.

Thank you also to Reverned David Stevenson for officiating the service and A W Lymn for all the funeral arrangements.

Memorial Donations can be made via this website to Cancer Research UK and/or Dementia UK. Flowers can be sent to: A W Lymn - St. James House - 53 Portland Road - Hucknall - Nottingham - NG15 7SL

Dear Tans.
We are deeply sorry for your loss. Uncle Werner was an amazing man. He will be remembered for being a gentleman and a great storyteller. We will fondly remember the stories he shared with us about his travels in Africa. Doing it African style ! What an honour to have known him.
Lots of hugs.
