The last time I saw Jon was at Sidcup Place park around 5 years or so ago. He was with his two girls and I was reading a book on the park bench. He came and sat with me while the girls played. We'd not seen each other for a few years. We were friends throughout our time at Hurstmere. We both played for the cricket team together and got to know each other better when we stayed on at school in the 6th form. We talked for a while and he told me how proud he was of his girls, how happy he was but frustrated with his current unemployment situation. We laughed about his 'cute appeal' and his 6th form sex symbol status! and reminisced about our times at school. Jon was a truly nice guy. One of THE nice guys. I never saw him sad or angry , Always with that cheeky smile!
I'm sorry I couldn't get to the funeral. I know that it with be full of people wishing to pay their respects. I know that Jon was loved by pretty much everyone that met him.
