In loving memory of Michael Harry who sadly passed away on 11th July 2019

Michael Harry Senior, known to most as 'Mike' passed away following a long battle with cancer.

Born in Grenada, West Indies in 1939; Mike came to London at the start of the '60's, in pursuit of his first love Joan, They subsequently married and had 5 children Gerry, Richard, Michael Jr., Frances and Deborah.

Mike was ambitious and he took a couple of jobs, before starting his own business. He remained an entrepreneur in a varied career until his passing. He took part in various community projects and in the late 1980's he was a founding member of the Black Contractors Association (BCA) a collective of business owners seeking to maximize opportunities for minorities. The BCA became dormant during the 90's, however the strategic members remained friends and colleagues.

Mike collaborated with his BCA colleagues to utilize their experience and expertise for the project which became closest to his heart in the last year of his life - The Windrush Legacy Association Limited.

The Windrush Legacy Association is aimed at raising awareness of the unacknowledged contribution of the Windrush generation and their descendants. It is focused on empowering members in their communities and increasing their capacity to lead and make uplifting contributions.

We are asking that if you would like to make a contribution in Dad's memory, that instead of flowers, please consider making a donation to The Windrush Legacy Association.
