In loving memory of David Waddell (Ferranti) who passed away peacefully after a short illness, at Royal Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy, on 6th June 2019. David, aged 71 years, much loved Husband to Elizabeth and Dad to Neil, Sharon and Craig, Grandad to Isla, Mirren, Toby, Blair and Finlay. David's kindness, sense of humour and gentle soul will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

*for all of David's family and friends.

Mr Wadstock

A glorious dawn arose one day,
albeit, around 4am.
The sweetness of the still summer air,
would make it prefect for a dram.

Yesters morning broke to the midday sun,
The lawns now freshly mowed.
The starlings and the wee broon spugs,
harvest worms from their abode.

The signs now up,
the chairs all oot.
Logs a plenty at the ready.
All was left,
was friends tae foot,
to sort this party oot.

You'd be driving down the long wee track,
he'd greet you at your door.
for David's smile and welcoming style,
was always warm with vigour.

Tents were pitched,
beer on ice,
the BBQ now well lit.
c'mon he'd say,
would you like a beer?
get it in ye, lickety split.

A keek aboot, the kids did have,
a variety of games to play.
From a rugby ball and volley ball,
tae a trampoline n more.

He'd wud dauner aboot,
making sure y'all right,
nothing, was to much trouble.
for David took pride,
he took it all in good stride,
he is, Mr Wadstock, dignified.

As the hours piled on,
The beers in good flow,
The fire was now well a lit.
The patter of chatter,
The sings of songs,
thank god for nae neighbours
we'd admit!

but all would wait,
to see first light with their mate,
and share a wee dram, at the fore.

A glorious dawn, arose that day,
albeit, around forfty o'clock
The sweet still air, the sun on our face,
made it prefect for David and his flock.
