Brenda Irene Horne (1 Nov 1938 - 8 Jun 2019)

In loving memory of Brenda Irene Horne who sadly passed away on Saturday 8th June 2019.

As many know Brenda has been battling the condition Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) for many years. Following a fall on Friday 7th June Brenda was taken to the James Paget Hospital where it quickly became apparent that her COPD had entered its final stage. Despite the amazing efforts of Dr David Kelly and his team Brenda was unable to fight the disease any longer and slipped away peacefully, without any fuss in true Brenda style. She was surrounded by her loved ones who held her hand till the very end.

Brenda's funeral will be held at Gorleston Crematorium at 11.30am on Monday 1st July 2019 followed by a wake at The Kensington Hotel, 29 North Drive, Great Yarmouth, NR30 4EW The family would be grateful if you could indicate your attendance at the celebration of Brenda's life using the "attend funeral" tab on this page.

Brenda was an avid supporter of the charity JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) as her brother David, Grandson Christopher and Great-Grandson Tobias all suffer from the condition Type One Diabetes. JDRF are trying to improve the lives of those living with the condition and funding research to find a cure. The family request that in place of any floral tributes a donation is made in her honour to JDRF, you can do this via this page or in cash at the funeral or wake.
