In loving memory of Michael Tudor

Michael left us at 9.25 pm on Monday 20th May wrapped in the love of his friends and family.

Arrangements for Michael's “Farewell to Deptford and this Mortal Coil” are as follows:

Tuesday 18th June

We will be gathering Michael from his current resting place and taking him to say goodbye to the place that played a very big role in his life on so many levels - The Birds Nest.

He will arrive at the Nest at 1.15 pm and depart at 1.45 pm to travel on to Hither Green Crematorium where the service will commence at 2.30 pm. Then back to... yes you've guessed it the Nest... for a celebration of the life and times of Michael Tudor. Music, love and laughter...

Michael wanted the dress code to be 1950's (think James Dean/Rockabilly - but don't feel you have to)

Feel free to join us either at the starting point at the Nest or at the Crematorium.

Rather than send flowers we would ask for donations to be made to Guys Cancer Centre (a collection will be made on the day by Albin's).

There will be parcel tags to write messages for Michael to take on with him at the Nest and in Sacred Heart school until the weekend before, which we will dress Michael's casket with on the Monday preceding the funeral. For anyone who cannot get to either location or attend the service you can post them if you wish.

A Legend has left us – Let's send him off in style xxx

I worked with Michael at JEEC several years ago and remember him as being a quiet and gifted creative. But alongside Michael’s creativity, which I recall so many benefiting from, Michael was patient and showed a genuine commitment to the students he worked with. My sincere condolences to the family and friends he has left behind. Nic

  • I forgot to add a bit more about who I am and how I was connected to Michael. I taught at John Evelyn Education Centre where Michael was a Teaching Assistant for many years. He had a great passion for the children, difficult as they were and struck up really positive relationships with them. We lost touch after this work place but he was such a lovely man that I thought it was only right to pay my respects. God bless Michael

  • Thanks Tasha - I remember you well, Michael loved working with you. He went on to run the Digital Publishing course at JEEC and later taught at Sacred Heart. He has left a huge hole and will never be forgotten. Diane x
