Beth was always a character, even as a little girl. She was bright, funny and articulate and had a wacky sense of

humour. As a teenager she was a real party animal, which sadly, over time, led to addiction. For some reason, Beth

never saw herself as others did. She never felt good enough, which exacerbated her addiction.

Her proudest achievement was giving birth to her daughter, Freya, whom she loved unconditionally. Despite Freya

and many years of AA and NA, plus a stint in rehab, she was unable to beat her demons.

She found God in January and this gave her a profound happiness. She seemed to have found the peace that had

eluded her. A tragic accident led to her death on May 2nd. She had an organ donor card and had kept her details

up to date on the register. Beth's heart, liver and both kidneys were donated to four recipients whose lives will

hopefully be transformed. An achievement to be proud of.

You made a massive difference to so many peoples lives when you worked for Mencap . You dyed Marilyn’s hair beautifully and this was definitely going beyond our duties ! You brightened up Adam’s days and I know this because of the huge smiles and laughs he greeted you with. There are so many other people who we supported that you helped it makes me cry thinking about it . I’ve been told you were so kind to Janet by Emma and how much life you brought to Curtis as you brightened up his days . I know I’ve missed out many people . You picked me up when I was down too after a break up . I’ll never be the friend you were to Jez , but I’ll try my best. I’m sorry I hadn’t seen you for so long . Rest in peace darling X Juliet

  • Beautifully said Juliet. Beth really did make a huge difference with those people's lives. It is such a shame that she never could see her true worth. Xx
