In loving memory of Elizabeth 'Liza' Edith Beattie who sadly passed away on 3rd May 2019 after a battle with cancer.

She will forever be remembered as kind, loving and giving - she would give you the coat off her back and shoes off her feet you were almost scared to say you liked any of her clothes because she would give them to you there and then!! She was compassionate and caring, always seeing the good in people and never had a bad word to say about anyone.

She had a great passion for history and writing, she went to the University of Glasgow to study archaeology where she obtained her masters, then later her PHD - loving studying so much she went back to help at the university later in life as a researcher.

She always put her family first and doted upon her mother, Maria Beattie, whom she was never very far from. She always said if she ever got lots of money she would put up a monument in honour of her mum for looking after her all these years.

It is with great saddness that we say goodbye to Liza, taken years before her time. But we fondly look back with happiness at the joyful memories she has given us.

** The family kindly ask that no flowers are given, instead if you wish, a donation can be placed to the Beatson Centre Charity who helped Liza greatly. **

Anna Goodfellow donated £36.75 in memory of Liza

From the kind donations from St Helen’s chapel, remembering Liza in the best way.

Dear Maria,
I was so sdeeply saddened to hear this morning of Liza's funeral today. It is with regret that I am unable to attend but my thoughts and prayers are with you and the family at this very sad time.

I attended Our Lady & St. Francis Secondary School with Liza and she was in my form class throughout but we lost touch afterwards. We lived locally back then, Liza in Newlands and myself in Shawlands.

I am so deeply saddened to read that Liza battled from cancer and died so young at 47 years. She was such a beautiful, intelligent happy girl and had the biggest smile.

My Deepest and Heartfelt Condolences,
Angela xx
