In loving memory of Jagdish Mitter Sharma who sadly passed away on 7th April 2019. Jagdish Mitter Sharma was born in Nairobi, Kenya. Elder son of Mr CD Sharma MBE. He did his schooling in Nairobi and qualified as a teacher. He was very outgoing person at this stage and was interested in helping the community. He became a Lion Club member in Nairobi. He got married and settled to a happy family life. He had two daughters Rajni and Sangeeta. As the security situation got bad in Kenya he came to London. He taught in a school in Welling. Also with his friend Mr Harminder Singh Thind, he founded the Woolwich and Greenwich Lions Club. He was always ready to help others whenever needed but was never intrusive. Very proud of his family and his extended family. Not one to seek help himself and did not like to inconvenience others.

To celebrate his life on the day of the funeral, let us honour the day with a colourful dress code.

Jagdish was a very active member of the Lions Club and the family would wish any donations to be made to the Lions as an alternative to flowers. Lions representatives will take donations on the day.

He was my eldest paternal uncle. With whatever little interactions I had with him, one could tell that he was a man of principles and values. May his soul rest in peace.

Fabulous photos of my eldest maternal uncle. I have the fondest memories of staying in Bexleyheath most summers as a child and loved Jagdish thiaji’s gentle manner, generosity, mischievious sense of humour and, in later years, his insightful wisdom.
Gone but certainly not forgotten 🙏🏽
