On 6th April 2019 at 2.40am Anne, known to her family as 'Mum, Nan & GG' peacefully passed away at Southampton General Hospital at the age of 86 years. No more suffering or pain, now that she sits in the tender loving arms of god.

Beloved wife of the late William Clothier & mother of the late William-John. Anne leaves behind four heart broken children Diane, Mary, Robert & Amanda. Along with sons/daughter in laws, grandchildren, their partners, great grandchildren & friends.

Our gratitude goes out to all the staff on HASU & on F8's acute stroke unit who went above and beyond giving Anne the finest care we could ever wish for. Thank you

Thank you for being the very best nan anyone could ask for.
You never failed to make me smile and make me feel so loved.
I just want to be able to hear your voice one more time or hold your hand one more time.
It feels like someone has removed the core of the family but I'm so happy that you are now at rest with Grandad.
Thank you for being the best GG to our boys.
Love you forever Nan xxxx

I was going to say you were like a Nan to me, but actually I grew up with you and you were my Grandparent in every way. Over the years we had so many laughs, like the time you tried to teach me to knit, but the only stitches that came were from the amount we laughed. You were such a central part of our family and words can’t express how much I will miss you and your lovely smile. Thank you for being the best GG to our boys. Rest well lovely lady x

Gone from us that smiling face,
The cheerful pleasant ways,
The heart that won so many friends,
In bygone, happy days.

A life made beautiful by kindly deeds,

A helping hand for others’ needs. and
Everyone’s friend.

Mum, I wish I could give so much more to this cause right now. It was always very important to you and you never failed to put a few pounds in their charity envelope every week at the post office xxx

Dear Nan, words can't explain how heartbroken and lost I am that your not here. I know your in a better place and have now been reunited with grandad and william-John but life doesn't feel right without you in it. You have left a massive whole in all our life's and we will never forget what an amazing person you were. You never asked for anything and was always giving and ensuring everyone else was ok. You were always by my side and never turnt your back for a minute. I am so grateful for everything you done for me, you were more than just my Nan, you were like a mum to me and also my best friend, if I ever needed to talk then you were always there to listen. The kids adored their "GG" and will miss you very much. I don't know what I'm going to do when I need someone to talk to now and I feel like I lost half of me when you left. Heaven has definitely gained a very special angel. We love you so munch Nan/GG. Fly high our beautiful angel xx
