  • Dee was full of effervescents,Dee and I lived a few doors from one and other and we went to the same school, Dee was my first girlfriend as I was her first boyfriend for two years in our teens until life separated us with my family migrating to OZ and I last saw Dee on the steps of her house on the morning we departed in 1967.That was not the end of our story however life took us in different directions Dee will always remain with me.Mike

  • Hi Mike,!so pleased that you had responded in such a beautiful way, I just had no idea or recollection of your name but today I received a message for one of her school friends remembering your time together. The way Dee was and her personality effected many people and like you they have her memories of times shared and we talk about them often . Take care and thank you for you message, kindest regards , Alan

  • Alan, thank you for your reply, firstly I wanted to convey my sincere condolences to all of Dee's family as I omitted to do so in my first post, this due to my deep distress in learning of Dee's passing only this week for the first time.I shared life with Dee in our teens and she was like my rose bud just bursting out.I never saw her grow into full bloom womanhood and even though her petals have fallen I still carry the scent of who she was as she filled my heart with Love and Joy.Dee and I did reconnect after 35 yrs apart and we woke on the telephone and connected via email for a time in 2003,In the end Dee asked me to stop getting in touch which I honoured and I lost all contact in 2005.Dee always spoke very fondly of you and her family and I have never forgotten her and Dee has always been very close to me in my heart but life is what happens when you are making plans.Thank you for the opportunity to share something go my life with Dee as it was to all my joy to know her and my deepest sadness and grief at her passing,Mike

  • Hi Mike, thank you for you condolences, regrettably I'm the only surviving sibling ,but will pass them on to my nieces and nephews. Mike , can I asked how you found out about dear Dee's passing ? I tried to contact those that I was aware of but I'm sorry to say that I wasn't in a position to inform you. I guess Mike , you would have lived in Longhurst Gardens ? I never lived there, and I would only visit and collect Dee. I hope you do not mind me asking these questions it so helps me. Kindest regards , Alan

  • Hi Alan thank you, yes I lived a few doors down from Dee,Dee was at 134 Longheath gardens and I lived at 138...and we both went to the same school. We were part of the Mod culture in our youth and we use to go for rides on my Lambretta scooter everywhere and it was a very happy time being together.I gather from your comments that Michael and Evvone have also passed away as I knew them both, plus Dee's mum and your Dad by sight only I was never introduced to him.I remember visiting another sister or maybe sister in law ( lived in South Norward) with young children just the once with Dee.Dee and I would ride to my Grans in Coulsdon and visit her on a Sunday afternoon for a cup of tea and a chat.I worked for the British Steel Corporation when I first left school in Victoria and then the company moved to Croydon in Katherine street.I found out by pure chance of Dee's passing as I googled Dee's full name in doing a online search and up came the funeral notice, at first I just stared at it almost in disbelief and then clicked and read the obituary notice. Please do not concern yourself that you didn't know me or was unable to let me know about Dee's passing....I was grateful to have known and be with Dee for the time we had together....I had hoped for something different but life did not go that way for us.Kind regards Mike

  • Hi Alan,I did respond to the above but somehow my reply didn't get posted, sorry Mike

  • Hi Mike Thank you so much for you reply again, I really hope you do not mind me messaging you it's just that although Dee and I were very very close I left home at the age of 15 and that was long before they moved to Longtheath Gardens, so I missed out on much of what was going on some of what happens in her life. Yes, There were six siblings, Twins, Vivienne , that was the one you visited in South Norwood, Maurice , Michael , who you met, Yvonne and Dee, sadly all have passed away leaving just me, I turned 80 in June. Dee's passing was a real shock to me and all who knew her. Take care Mike and thank you for your message , kindest regards Alan

  • Hi Alan, thank you for sharing with me some small insights into what Dee was and remains to mean to me from a time of our youth. In sharing the stuff of life with you over this week brought me the taste of joy in knowing Dee raising above the deep sadness of loss but thats the other side of loving someone I guess. Take care and hopefully your loving memories of Dee will lift you up from the depths of sorrow and loss, it has been very good for me to have spoken with you as it helps in closing the circle of my life and times I shared with Dee as short as it was but eternal in some other way in speaking to the brother of Dee whom she loved very much, kind regards Mike
