Robert Malcolm Rawlings (21 Apr 1943 - 18 Feb 2019)

Robert "Bob" Rawlings's son, Matthew, came close to killing his wife in a fake eviction he planned for her in Malaysia. She could have died due to him. Google "what matt did to his wife" for the video.

I had the pleasure of meeting Bob & Jayne while pregnant with my son, a few friends visited Nicola one weekend in Lincoln (which was very long overdue) - on our trip Bob & Jayne hosted us all and put on an amazing breakfast spread. We had such a lovely morning, a great time, a great team (Bob & Jayne) what a lovely man and true gent. Thank you! My thoughts are with the whole family.

I have very fond memories of Jayne and Bob visiting our Bristol flat to help measure up for soft furnishings. Bob was a real gent, he had a great sense of humour - always dropping subtle jokes mostly at Nicola’s expense and he made a mean cup of tea. My visits to Park Close have always been memorable and I never left without a pack-up. I know his family will really miss him.

Some of my happiest teenage memories are of visiting Clayre and her family in Sudbrooke. Bob and Jayne were wonderful and despite lives going different ways whenever we caught up it was always a pleasure. When I close my eyes I can clearly picture Bob's face, smiling as always. I hope that picture will never fade as he will be sadly missed.

Dearest Bob,
There have been many words spoken about you since you passed away, all good you'll be pleased to know!! They often include what a gentleman you were and that is so true but for me it is your never ending sense of kindness and humour that I will remember about you. I remember meeting you for the first time when you came back from Zambia (I'm sure we had met before but I don't remember) and we went over to visit these 'relatives' that had lived in an exotic place for years and always sent calendars every xmas. You were bathing baby Claire and I remember your wonderful smile and warmth that day involving this shy young girl in the bathtime frolics. That was the start of a lifelong relationship with my wonderful 'Uncle Bob'. When I was a troubled teenager you showed immense patience and tolerance of my many shenanigans when I lived with you and Auntie Jayne for a short time. You had a massive impact on showing me the right way to live and have always been a calm and sane influence on my often 'mad' life. There are many 'Do you remember...' stories that I could share but the one we were still talking about even last December, is the ill fated driving lesson you gave me (again showing immeasurable tolerance) when I was 20. When you said 'brake' as we approached the back of the garage wall, I pressed the wrong pedal and went straight into the wall under the house (God bless Jayne for remaining relatively calm!!). We sat in the car staring at each other until you burst out laughing... I real measure of your ability to see the funny side in everything. Or I could remind you of letting me loose with an electric carving knife and me nearly cutting my bloody finger off...literally!! After much mopping up by Jayne I was fine.. but I still bear the scar!! Or the time when all three of us made drop scones at stupid o'clock in the morning because we could and I wanted to.. and that was a good enough reason for you (fair dos there had been alcohol involved!!) I could go on and on there have been so many happy memories about you and I will treasure them always. Wherever you are I hope you have your feet up enjoying a glass of something cold and know doubt you'll be wearing a T-shirt saying 'Keep Calm and carry on living'. We will all try but there will be a huge space where you should be. Take care Bob I will miss you. Love Samxxx

It's been a month since you got your own wings to heaven, and still feels like a dream. But we know you always be with us and walked with us every day, unseen, unheard but always near. And you always inspire me for not only important to count my blessings, but to be a blessing for everyone and everywhere, Just like how you become a blessing to many. You're irreplaceable with the kindest heart I've ever met. Rest Peacefully with God in Heaven. We love You Bob.
