On Friday 8th February 2019, suddenly but peacefully at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary, Shirley passed away aged 72 years. Formerly of Meltham and Moldgreen, Shirley was a loving partner of Phil, a much loved mum to Tracy and Dena, a proud and devoted grandma of Robbie, Nathan, Billy, Bethany and Charlie, a lifelong sister of Elsie, a special auntie to many and a wonderful friend to so many more whose lives she touched with her kindness, generousity and courageous spirit.

Family flowers only please. Instead, donations if wished may be given for Kirkwood Hospice c/o Radcliffe Funeral Service, 16 Westgate, Honley, Holmfirth, HD9 6AA, via a donation box that will be made available at the service, or through the "Just Giving" link on this website. Will friends please accept this invitation and meet at the crematorium.

In celebration of Shirley's love for her beautiful garden and flowers, please feel free to dress in bright colours and do not feel restricted to black and white. However, for those wishing to observe traditional funeral dress, you are more than welcome to wear whatever you choose and will be equally welcome.

Please feel free to add your personal messages, candles and photos.

Debbie Lynch donated £10 in memory of Shirley

Thinking of you all on the loss of your gorgeous Mum, sister, grandma and friend to many. Also to Phil at this sad time xx

What a privilege its been to have had Shirley as my sister and best friend. We've laughed, danced and cried together down the years and much much more. She's always looked out for me and one of my abiding memories is being about 5 years old and Shirley pinning a much bigger boy up against a lamp post and telling me to punch him (he'd been picking on me) Needless to say he never hit me again!!!
My beautiful Shirley was kind, loving, strong, fearless and brave and I'm going to miss her terribly and I hope that where ever she's gone she's partying with Mum, Dad, Helen and Big Al.... Sleep tight xxx
