After a courageous four-year battle with a brain tumour Pat died peacefully at St Leonards Hospice, York. Pat leaves a husband Mike Floyd, brother David and sister in law Helen and three step children.

A private cremation was held last Friday and Pat will be interred at a private family ceremony in March. There will be a Celebration of Life memorial service at St Michael and All Angels Church, Sutton at 3.00pm on Saturday 30th March followed by refreshments in the village hall at which family, friends and colleagues will share highlights of her life. In order to manage logistics, the family request that those wishing to attend leave their details with the funeral directors at enquiries@jgfielderandson.co.uk. No flowers please, monies raised will go to St Leonards Hospice and the Brain Tumour Charity.

Originally from the Midlands Pat attended Fulford School as a teenager leaving to gain a National Diploma in Art and Design at York College. She obtained an Honours Degree in Modern Art, Design and Film at Newcastle Polytechnic in the late eighties. Her early career centred on Benefits Advice work in York. Yearning for new pastures she had various temporary jobs in York followed by a switch to Grant administration across Yorkshire to the Charity sector in 2000. She started it as an Awards Officer at Lottery funded Awards for All team based in Leeds, going on to work for Humber and Wolds Community Council as a grant manager until 2008.

For almost a decade before her retirement, due to ill health, Pat worked as Grant Manager for Lloyds Bank Foundation for England and Wales, assessing and awarding grants to charities tackling complex social issues across Yorkshire and the Humber. Local charities will remember her passion for her work, her empathy for people facing tough issues, and for the commitment she had to creating a stronger voluntary sector for years to come. She was very well-liked and held in high regard by her Foundation colleagues, by whom she’s greatly missed.
