In loving memory of Ronald Elley who sadly passed away on 7th December 2018.
My dad was born on 6th April 1948 and is survived by his 3 sisters Carol, Yvonne and Jeanette.
He has 2 grandchildren, Georgia and Neve that he thought the world of and loved spending time with them. They have many memories of their grandad of days out to London Zoo and Chessington World of Adventures. A special memory will be the Sunday breakfast tradition. Every Sunday we would all go for breakfast at the pub, or Church as grandad liked to call it, the girls would have a full English breakfast and grandad would have his Guinness! we would chat about the week and the girls would terrorise their grandad with snapchat filters to see who could make him look sillier. It was our day with grandad and my dad and we loved these times and so did he.
My dad joined the army on 10th January 1967 and served in the 3rd Battallion Parachute Regiment. My dad was proud to serve his country and made some amazing friends, some sadly passed before him, but never forgotten. We have looked through his photos of his time in the army and have gained great comfort from them. We are very proud of him. My dad left the army on 9th January 1976 and I was born on 4th February 1976. My dad married my mum Linda, and lived with her and my two brothers Ken and Garry. They divorced many years ago but remained on good terms.
My dad made some amazing friends in his life who looked after him. These friends shared many happy times with my dad and he spoke fondly of them all, so thank you to all that knew him and made his life a happier place. I hope to hear many stories in the future about all these special times.
My dad was an amazing man and one who will not be forgotten. He was my hero and was always there for me in good times and bad times and I am proud to say I was there for him when he needed me most. I will cherish every moment I had with him and his memory will live on in myself, his grandchildren and many others. RIP dad, love always your loving daughter Angela x
