In loving memory of Jean Vickers, mother of seven, grandmother, great grandmother and loving wife to Oliver (Vic) for 56 years, who passed away most peacefully in Kings Mill hospital during the early hours of Sunday morning, 2nd December.
Jean had been a life long resident in the village of South Normanton since her birth, back in November 1943 and as such, any friends or neighbours from the village, or locality, are more than welcome to join the family in a farewell service at St. Michaels Church and afterwards at the Carnfield Club, Lees Lane.
Jean requested that no mourners provide flowers, rather that, any support for the Heart Foundation shown through a donation, would have a more lasting and longer term benefit to others.

Hello mum just wishing you a happy Easter. The first Easter without you. I will keep our tradition going by eating fish for Easter Friday. Just like we had when we were children and you bought us kids ( David,Shane, Tub, Mark, Trev and myself (before Honk came along) loads of Easter eggs each then he would get spoilt too. I will light a candle for Easter for you and my dad. I can recall every year you would say ya dad's gone for our fish for Friday. I will miss the good times at Easter we shared. Well bye for now my wonderful mother.
Love ya loads Anita xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hello Granny Jean,
Happy Mother's Day and Happy Granny Day.
Last year we saw Jersey Boys and when we were half way traveling back home we had to go back to the place because I forgot my handbag haha.
I was too busy chatting to the men thats why haha.
I think Grandad Oliver was moaning when we finally got back from the show I remember him saying "where you been woman" something like that but swearing like he did haha.
I wonder what you will be doing today, I will be thinking of you Granny. Love you Granny.

Lots of love from your Grandaughter Shez Xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Dear Granny Jean I still can't believe you have left this earth so suddenly.
I keep thinking I will see you or you leaving me voice messages on my phone.
I miss and love you so much.
I miss playing bingo with you and looking round shops with you.
I miss your voice and talking to you about anything.
Other day would have been 2 years since we went to see Donny Osmond then went to Liverpool the next day and we brought some Beatles things.
I hope you have found Grandad Oliver in heaven and not being alone.
Always love and miss you.

Well my dear mother it is nearly 2 months since you left me on earth all alone. I have a photo of you and dad when you got married in 1963, which sits on the fireplace shelf in the dining room were we use to sit for our meals. I miss you ringing me or going shopping or to the bingo. I feel so lost and lonely without you and my dad to talk to. Mikayla-Rose looks at your photo every day and says granddad cheese and granny. I don't want her to forget when you both came and you called her gorgeous and dad and Mikayla blew raspberries at each other. I want her to remember the good times we had together. I will light a candle as you are in my heart and soul forever. Goodnight for now. Love you always. Anita xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I am going to miss you granny flip-flop. I will remember the fun times we shared at my house in Derby. I will miss trying your flip-flops on and walking around the house with them on. I will miss the walks we had together, especially on the swings in the park. I will remember you at night when I look up into the sky and seeing you wave to me from the brightest star. Rest now my dear great grandma. Love to you always your great grand-daughter Mikayla-Rose. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
