Charles Guy McLeod sadly passed away after a short illness on 30 January 2015 aged 99 years. Devoted husband of Bertha (Deceased). Much loved father of Jean, Hilary and Alan and father in law of Alan, also beloved grandfather of Sally, Catherine, Paul, Michael and Ian. Affectionately remembered great grandfather of Harry, Bryony, Aisling, Caoimhe, Kieran and Aaron. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all who knew him.
A well-remembered teacher of mine at the Harris School 1954/1955. He had a good perspective on life, from which I certainly benefitted. The Harris was a very special school in those days, under the guidance of headmaster Wellington. The teachers all seemed 'different' to what we were all used to. Probably handpicked for their 'specialness', including Mr. McLeod. I fear the school has sunk into barely adequate ordinariness since.
Charles was a great colleague for me when I joined the Harris staff in September 1957 as a stranger to Rugby. He helped with information about the town and as he built up the school library.
We remember Charles' kindness and caring hospitality when we visited UK. Miss his Christmas messages. Best wishes to all the family.
