Paul Croston (4 Sep 1956 - 25 Jan 2015)

My condolences to Chris, Matthew and Maxine. Paul will be missed.

I worked with Paul for 4 years both at Local Partnerships and in the Waste Infrastructure team at Defra. I always enjoyed his company and found him to be a decent, hard working and fun member of the team. He will be missed.

I'm cycling from London to Paris with a few friends in May and we've agreed to raise money for Cancer Research / Macmillan in memory of Paul.

So sorry to hear the sudden sad news. Our thoughts are with Chris, Maxine, Matthew and Muriel.

Defra colleagues raised this donation in Paul’s memory at a recent charitable coffee morning.
A great colleague and manager and a truly lovely man, Paul will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Deepest condolences from everyone in the Waste Infrastructure Team.

Paul was a gifted manager who gave me some tremendous opportunities and from whom I learned much. We worked together long and hard through some truly challenging times and it is tragic that such a good guy has been taken from his family so soon. So sorry I have learned of Paul's passing too late to come to Woking once more. My thoughts are with you this evening.

Paul was a lovely manager and person. I am truly sorry that he is no longer with us and I will miss his warmth and guidance. I hope and pray that the Croston family comes to terms with Paul's sad departure and will soon come to realise that the sadness of his death is finite, but the happiness of having known him is infinite.

We are all very sad here at Local Partnerships at the loss of Paul. He was the lynchpin of our work with DEFRA and a fine man whom we liked very much.
