In loving memory of Peter Temple who sadly passed away on 9th October 2018

Peter was the youngest of 11 children born to Edwin and Mary Temple at London Walk. Pete had two sons David and Robbie and three grandchildren, Toni, Billie and Ronnie.

Pete learnt to drive in the Army where he drove army officials in Paris. He went on to be a Lorry Driver until he retired at the age of 68.

Pete lived with his Partner Sue, who he had been with for 37 years. They lived in a two bedroom house in Catford for 22 years, previously living in Rotherhithe.

Pete did not have many hobbies, but he liked watching sport, he supported Chelsea FC and loved Women's Football. He enjoyed boxing, rugby and athletics. He loved his TV and old films and comedy. He was brilliant at drawing, however could not be persuaded to draw in his retirement, his eyesight was not very good in later years.

Pete loved his holidays, his favourite places being Cyprus, Goa and Dominican Republic. He dreamed of retiring to Cyprus one day.

Over the past four years, Pete suffered ill health which affected his ability to get around.

  • Peter was an Uncle, who sadly I never met. I once met his parents in 1964. My mother, Beatrice Temple was one of Peter's sisters. Two of his sisters, Margaret and Eileen are living.I would love to get in touch ! Dr. John Upham

My dearest Dad, we never spent an awful lot of time together in your final years, what with the distance between us and my unsocial working hours and shift patterns, but rest assured you were always in my mind and in my thoughts. But I am so pleased I managed to be at your side before God led you away to pastures new. Love always

Pete, you were always so kind to me, and so much fun. Love you so much, and miss you. I hope you are not in pain and enjoying sitting at the bar, with a beer, in another world. I wish we had had more time together, but the time we had was precious, and thank you for that. Always much love Loraine. xxx
