I can not believe that a great friend, companion, and gentlemen has gone. I still think he is going to phone me up with the same line, young man have you got that price for me yet. The same thing for 39 years but what a great time a great inspiration to me and a lot of people who met him, he will never be forgot. with the greatest of respect always Colin and Bernie Barnard.

40 years ago Andrew and his predecessor Joe Meade turned Walthamstow estate agency on its head. They brought competition where there was local complacency. Uncomfortable at the time, but he did us a favour and was well ahead of his time. I’ve known and respected him ever since. I can’t forget the time he invited me and a few others to fly to France for lunch in his plane. We met at the airfield and after our briefing he took out a bottle of scotch. “Let’s have one before I fly you”. He was of course joking, but my anxiety in going in a light plane was at fever pitch when I thought our pilot might be drunk. I was on the verge of declining to travel when I realised it was just his little joke.
Whatever else, I’m grateful for him in introducing Genevieve to my firm.

I wish Jaqueline and Genevieve strength at this time and good memories of Andrew in better times

I met Andrew through B & C Lodge some eighteen years ago now - an absolute gentlemen and a great ritualist - you will indeed be sorely missed by all. We shared a passion for Jaguar and classic cars and it was not long ago I was sitting behind the wheel of his lovely Daimler Dart - it was a pleasure knowing you - my sincere condolences to all the family.

I first met Andrew some 45 years ago and within a very short space of time we were firm friends. This soon blossomed into a close friendship between Jackie & Andrew on the one hand and my wife Rochelle and myself
Andrew and I were until my retirement in almost daily contact and even after I retired we had regular conversations and lunches. We also had the pleasure of taking several great holidays with them
Andrew was a man who had a generosity of mind and spirit, and a person who was always willing to help in any way in particular with Rochelle's illness and despite his own
He suffered the last few years with immense bravery and we will miss his jovial and cheerful friendship immensely
We send our love and condolences to Jackie and Genevieve

Eileen and I have known and been friends with Andrew for over 50 years. He and I were partners in business for several years but also shared many other activities, including sailing and ski-ing. We have fond memories of happy times with him, Jackie and Genevieve. It was a privilege to have known him and be counted as his friend.

Andrew, our good friend and next-door neighbour for nearly forty years. So many memories - the Tuesday pub nights with Daisy at the helm, meals out together, family drinks at Christmas, the time you piloted us to Honfleur, our walks around Philpot End throughout the seasons, and just lots and lots of laughter. We shall never forget your unique take on life, generous spirit, sense of humour and, in the final years, your monumental courage. It was a true privilege to have known you so well and we will miss you enormously.

It isn't that long ago Andrew that we spoke about how long we'd known each other. We think we recalled it to be 1981, so 37 years ago. We spoke about how the world had changed since then, but I meant what I said that one thing was always constant throughout that time; you were a mentor, a gentleman and an inspiration way back then, and that's how I always saw you even up until we met for the last time a few short weeks ago. You were wonderful support when I was unwell last year, and the whole world is a poorer place for your passing. Sleep tight my dear friend, I, Lisa and Zoe shall miss you immensely.
