In loving memory of Wendy Lorraine Yilmaz who sadly passed away on 25th June 2018.
Wendy was born on 27th August 1962 in Wrexham, to Alma and Derek Wood. She is survived by her sister Jo, brothers Nick and Andrew and her two sausage dogs, Syd and Roxy, whom she adored and will now live with Jo.
Wendy's hometown was Chester in the North West although she moved around the country a lot with her work and finally re-located to Nottingham as a central base for the various offices she would visit.
Wendy was a dynamic, funny, friendly, glamorous (learnt from her mother), kind and generous woman with a no nonsense, forthright character and spirit for living! Due to her warm nature, Wendy made friends with so many people throughout her lifetime and appreciated the love and support she received from all her family and friends.
Wendy was a natural born leader and forged a highly successful career in the newspaper, print and publishing industry before finally opening her own independent business consultancy in Nottingham. Throughout her career, she influenced so many people, many of who she remained good friends with.
Wendy was diagnosed with Inflammatory Breast cancer in 2013 and sadly this returned in July 2017. She fought a very long and difficult battle with cancer however throughout, she always remained positive by raising awareness and doing mini vlog updates. Wendy inspired so many people with her ‘red lippy days’, the days when she felt well enough to do what she had done her entire life 'get up, make-up and show up'
Wendy's departure leaves a huge void in the lives of many people. She was loved.

Dearest sis, I've waited a while to write something...it's been almost six weeks since you left us and the sense of loss is indescribable. You were my sister and best friend for my entire life, always there no matter what. At this moment, contemplating life without you is beyond devastating. I miss our chats, the laughs, us putting the world to rights and even you bossing me around! All I can say and hope you knew, is what an absolute honor it was to be your sister. You taught me so many things about life and only now do I understand the true value of this. I am so proud that you inspired and touched the lives of many people in your lifetime, not to mention what you achieved. No-one should have to suffer the way you did in the last year of your life but you managed it with such courage and positivity. I hope it made you smile that people danced out to your chosen Madonna song, especially as you told me that is what you wanted, and what about that coffin hey, only custom built bling for our Wend?! What a beautiful tribute that only you could write Joanne. You are like two peas in a pod, sometimes nudging each other and other times just telling each other always the humour I love stood out more than anything. She may have travelled the distance but she will always be with us. Love to you both
