In loving memory of Alan John Townsend who passed away in the early hours of 10th June 2018 at home, he will be missed by all that knew and loved him. Alan was a fantastic family man, a loving husband, father, brother and son. Alan had 3 children, Vicky, Isabella and Ethan. Alan adored his holidays both in this country and abroad, and his family have many fond memories to treasure forever.
Alan's funeral will be held at Scraptoft Natural Burial Site at 11.45am on Thursday 21st June, with a wake to follow at The Mill on the Soar Pub in Broughton Astley from 1.30pm
All are welcome to attend and celebrate Alan's life. In lieu of flowers please send donations per attached page.
Uncle Alan, thank you for playing such a massive part in my life as I was growing up. I will never forget the great times we have had together.
Until we see each other again, rest in peace Uncle.

Alan. It was heart breaking saying our last goodbyes and watching you suffer so bravely. We can however take solice in the knowledge that your loved one rallied around, to not only give you the strength and courage during your final hours, but give each other comfort and support,knowing we wasn't alone in our grief. Which was so deep and profound. You wasn't just a brother, husband, Dad and Uncle. You was a best friend too. One you could confide in and there when it mattered. Marrying Karen was the best thing you ever did for yourself. She helped turn you into the wonderful caring, smart,compassionate and understanding man the you became. We will never forget your dry wit and sense of humour.
Watching over Karen, Etan and Isabella will be our honour and they will always continue to do you proud.
No words could ever express how much you will be missed, but your time had come and now your at peace with Mum and Dad once again.
Love you Bro, see you on the other side.

Alan,god saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be.He wrapped you up in his loving arm’s and whispered come with me.
You suffered much in silence your spirit did not bend you faced the pain with courage until the very end.
You tried so hard to stay with us but his light was not in vain .God took you to his loving home and freed you from the pain.
