Geoff was a man who knew lots and was very willing to share it. What a great guy and what a great loss.
To Penny and family, my thoughts are with you at this terrible time. Take some comfort that there are so many lifting you up in their hearts.
Richard x

I always enjoyed cycling alongside Geoff, with his scientific background and so many interests, there was much to share.
He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered.

Geoff - quite honestly the 'Swiss army knife of life'. He always found the solution to whatever the problem was. Geoff was the best ........simply the best. We were always saying "we'll ask Geoff about that" or "Geoff will know about this". Geoff could, and would, talk to anybody at any level about anything. A great loss to us all. We will miss you so very much. Thanks for being you and thanks for making our lives richer for knowing you. Love Liz, Bill, Craig and Matt

I will always remember Geoff for the time he spent building an extension at my Mums place for me to live in...so caringly done, listening to my requests for arched wooden doorways and uneven edges, making everything look as rickety as possible...it seemed he liked the challenge! Then one day he came with latches he'd designed for the doors...oh my goodness, they were SO cool, and the noise they made when using them was just incredibly wonderful!
During this time, many a lunch break was spent talking art and nature and we made a barter, with Geoff making me some bathroom accessories in return for a painting...those were good days.
Thinking of you Penny and family at this time, with much love xxx

We will miss you Beast.

Body surfing, Camping at Wollacombe (and cooking dinner out of the back of the van), Christmas Eve drinks, devouring gigantic bowls of salad, prepping the MG for the summer months, building houses with no internal corners and, of course, cycling. But above those things, I will always remember being welcomed into yours and Penny's home as if it were my own.

A unique and wonderful man who truly understood the world around him. Enjoy heaven - don't eat all the salad.

I have many happy memories of cycle rides with Geoff. He was particularly kind, patient and encouraging when I was struggling on our tour of Britanny. I also remember the incredible dinners created by Geoff and Penny on that trip from their amazing stash of herbs and spices...it was worth chopping up all that garlic!

We are so sad to hear that Geoff is no longer with us. We know he will be greatly missed by all his friends and family and everyone who had the privilege of cycling with him in the CTC.

Geoff was a good companion on cycle rides, his cheerfulness during the illness was humbling and Penny's support tremendous.

I will always remember Geoff as a quite amazing, energetic, life affirming person and count myself very lucky to have met and known him.

He had an incredibly positive approach to life and to solving all sorts of problems ranging from shifting multi ton hulks of granite to diagnosing problems with the minute innards of disk brakes.

I'll especially treasure the times we all cycled together especially on our many French trips. So many incidents and events come to mind … Geoff foraging for fruit in hedges … a group arriving tired at a riverside lunch stop and Geoff and Penny jumping in for a vigorous swim … Geoff magicking up both vegetarian and meat based meals for large groups and producing numerous herbs and spices from the depths of his panniers.

The last two years showed that his inner strength was unbelievable.

Just an amazing guy!

Kirby x

I remember how supportive Geoff was when I went on the New Forest weekend shortly after joining the CTC. He was always very positive, friendly and patient - a very kind man whom I feel privileged to have known.

I always felt that I didn't need the internet when Geoff was around. He was like a walking Google search engine - he seemed to know everything about everything. I'm sure this was due to his boundless enthusiasm for life and everything to do with it. I didn't know you for long enough, Geoff, but your inspiration and your memory will live with me for a long time. With Love, Dave
