Our grandpa.

Gosh. Where do I start. An amazingly beautiful, funny, intelligent, eloquent man. Grandpa was always there for us. I remember mornings at Llangenith with GGN. BBC world news playing, the kettle whistling, the smell of bacon and grandpa emptying the toilet...we always appreciated that.

Golf on the beach, running through the dunes, how an earth did you have such energy for us. Playing cards forever. Still love that.

The best walks I ever had were with grandpa to the little shop at Hillend. We would talk and laugh all the way there and all the way back. He’d always buy us a treat (sweets). He loved us so much. And we loved him. Beautiful singing, jokes and dancing. Coffee at 11. Tap dancing in the kitchen. He was so alive. A man that will be loved forever x

I love that we had you in our life for so long. And I applaud you x

Our grandpa and friend

Life is what happened around you.
You made us all feel special and loved
You taught us the value of humour
And we loved looking up at the sky above
We built things in your garden
We tap danced to your voice
We languished in your easy care
And felt how much you loved

So you made it to 96, such dignity and poise
I know the constant care you needed must have annoyed
Your mind was always working, thinking of what you could do
We were always all in awe of how you muddled through

So Grandpa be at peace now, you have given much love and care. An amazing life you have driven. And I thank god we all got to share.
