I had only known Cyril for a short time as my sister Moira had found him though a family research. Cyril is my mum's second cousin and she was Kathleen Mary Woodcock born in Leeds. The couple of times I had met Cyril he was a gentlemen from the old school who made you feel welcome, he was full of family knowledge and he liked to hear about mum when she moved to OZ in 1944 as she married dad in 1940 at St Michael's in Colchester as he was station here before the Middle East and also about our family Down Under.
I will miss talking to him for his birthdays and Christmas or just when I want to hear his pommy voice Cyril was a great man and I will him.
