Well brother we will not be able to stay up all night having a few glasses of wine arguing about everything from work to football but we will meet up again in blue heaven.

Billy you were an instinctive, hard but fair leader of a loyal band of Corby brothers that I was proud to be a part of on brief occasions. I will always fondly remember you standing in the middle of the road at Corby PS directing the traffic like a Pep Guardiaola or a Jock Wallace. Like your beloved boys in blue you were Aye Ready. I hope your family take some comfort from the knowledge that for all that time you were at work you were with friends not just colleagues. Rest in peace old pal.

Something tells me you’ve just found a better party to go to! Happy memories of my best man. A character and inspiration. This is how you will remain in my thoughts. GBNF.

Billy, to say you were one of life's characters is an understatement. You were much more than that. I saw how much you cared with your contribution at work but much more so for your family. I hope the family continues to take comfort from so many great memories. Glasgow Rangers has lost a pillar.

Uncle William, words cannot express how heartbroken we all are. The family parties will never be the same. Don’t you worry though when 500 Miles is played we will do you proud. Give my mum a kiss from me when she meets you. Love you xxxx

It is privilege and a pleasure to have known and worked with Billy. I hope the family take some comfort from the wonderful and lasting memories that will always remain with his friends and colleagues of a man who commanded the greatest respect and friendship, both at work and outside.

Can’t believe you are no longer here. But I take comfort that you are now pain free. We will meet again. I look forward to our reunion. Take care my friend. Another light went out in the Trent Valley when you passed. Will miss you very much. Bless you Billy, and pray that God comforts your family. Good night
