Dennis Baillie (9 Jul 1955 - 12 Dec 2017)
In loving memory of Dennis Baillie who sadly passed away on 12th December 2017.
Dennis was born in Forfar in 1955, and lived in Brechin until his family moved to Perth, and when he was 17 he moved to Edinburgh to join HMRC. Dennis had a long career spanning over 40 years, working in many roles across the UK. He will be remembered as a larger than life character in HMRC by many.
Dennis was die hard Hearts fan, loved Cricket and Rugby. All his life, he played sport in one capacity or another - football, squash, badminton and in more recent years dedicated himself to the gym - with an attendance record that would put some athletes to shame.
He enjoyed travelling and holidaying with Liz and Scott and especially in recent years, travelling around Eastern Europe with Liz.
He will be sorely missed by all, known for his humour and quick wit as well as a loving husband and father.

Our thoughts are with you all at this very sad time. We treasure the special times we had with Dennis & Liz on our trips to the UK and most recently in August 2017. We enjoyed Dennis & Liz's hospitality on many occasions. A special cousin gone way too soon. Our Deepest Sympathy and love from Shirley & Bruce together with extended family in New Zealand.

Like everyone else, I’m still in a state of disbelief.
We didn’t agree on everything but I always respected you and admired your commitment and resolve. I felt the phrase: “When the going gets tough the tough get going” was an apt description of your philosophy. Added to your sharp wit, a formidable combination.
Your resilience no doubt served you well in riding the roller-coaster that came with being a Hearts supporter! The club needed – and needs – more fans like you. I was always glad you supported my team.
You leave behind a big void and the rest of us must now support each other whilst trying to make sense of your loss. You left us far too soon but I hope we can take comfort that you’re at peace and in God’s care.

Dennis I first knew you from the badminton club and the jokes you told made my eyes water the fat a ma white bread one stood out fantastic lovely guy will miss you from work and the you made me smile even if feeling bad taken too young will always miss you

I will fondly remember you Dennis. You always encouraged and supported me, from my corner at Taekwon-do competitions, to giving me advice on my taxes. I'll remember you for your genuine kindness, sharp wit and great sense of humour (your jokes weren't that bad!) and I will miss your comments on my photos from my travels. But most of all, I'll remember you for being part of a lovely, happy family with Liz and Scott, as well as being a true friend to my dad, mum and me. Lucy x x

Having worked and been a friend with You for the best part of 40 years, many of us are still coming to terms with the fact that your larger than life personality will no longer be around. You were a generous caring friend to so many. A man we could depend on and who could make anyone laugh, even when we were the brunt of your sharp sarcastic sense of humour. I will particularly miss the Hearts-Hibs banter we have had together for many years. It’s very fitting that since your passing your team have excelled in your absence. Almost as if you are at last in control of all things Hearts!
My heart goes out to Liz and Scott at this sad time but I think we all know that You will be looking over them. R.I.P big guy!!

I'm missing my early morning chats with you about everything under the sun apart from work, and of course especially the fitba banter. Sorely missing you as a Fitbit "friend" too but at least I'm ahead of the others now. I never ever could keep up with you in that respect, so hoping that you're keeping things going up there fella.
