I was not his best student but I always enjoyed his reading of Chaucer. Thank you for your patience and understanding when I was your student

James had a wonderful smile and was a warm and caring person. I know he was greatly loved by his congregation in Pentre Broughton; I only heard him preach once, but his sermon based on God`s Grandeur" by Manley Hopkins has stayed in my memory and I was privileged to be present. As a Vicar and as a person he was a true witness to Christ
