Thinking of you today more than ever Grandad, I know you are often looking down over me and you are never far from my thoughts. I miss our chats and you shooting straight from the hip with life advice. “Let the buggers get on with it”, I can hear you now! I know you would be proud of what I have achieved so far and what is to come, a new chapter in this road called life.
Happy Father’s Day to my Grandad Ed xxx

Missing you so much grandad. Still have all your lovely little shopping lists because I loved your handwriting so much. Have a towel tucked away safely that smells like you. Miss your spiky kisses on the cheek because of your stubble! Miss looking up at your window when I went past and wondering what was on the telly! Want to hear your stories again and see you light up when you share them with us. Not a day goes by that you are forgotten, we will always love you xxxxxxxx

Can't believe it is a year tomorrow that you were cruelly taken from us too soon.
When you passed not only were we deeply grieving, but we were forced into dealing with the unnessesary & unpleasent side of legalities after your death. You would be disgusted if you knew. I'm glad you are resting peacefully with your wife. Sorry we could not scatter your ashes, the desision was taken out of hand :(

We regularly visit you and take long walks in the peaceful cemetry where we can feel connected with you once again. Look after Grandma Pamela for us. I miss you lots and it is sad that we no longer have grandparents to visit, at any time of the day, always welcome.

Watch over us all please, Laila and Harvey are missing you also. A huge void is in our lives. Our role model, gone. We cherish the memories and special family photos we have and not only that, I see your face in your ever aging son's who are starting to look the spitting image of you! Haha

Love forever, from Emily, Laila, Harvey, Chris, Chervonne, Chloe, Adrian, Nicky, Joeseph, William, Jenny and all your muxh loved friends XXXX

Today I said my final goodbyes to you, grandad. You looked peaceful in the chapel. You passed away with such dignity and love surrounding you. You look at peace and so handsome, even for 81, I'm bloody old, you would say to me!

I always told you you were gonna get that letter from the queen for your 100th because compared to some of the elderly I see, you were fit and healthy. I really thought I had more time with you.

But you were happy to go. I remember the chats we had about dying and how you said were happy to go, I always disagreed with you. I wanted you to go on and on but that was selfish of me. You told me your life was fulfilled and you were right. You were a great man and that is rare. You were so humble that you didn't even know how special you were.

Today you looked proud in your Devonshire regiment suit jacket. Resting in Peace.

You always encouraged me and I looked up to you.

I will miss your non-politically-correct banter. I will miss hearing about your childhood. I will miss the rants about people from certain places! I will miss popping in, always knowing I would be welcome. I will miss driving out of your car park and seeing you wave me goodbye. I will miss having a cuppa and biscuit, although you never made the tea!!! I always did. I will miss your funny shopping lists of endless amounts of cheese, crisps and chocolate. I will miss the smell of dettol in the sink. I will miss hearing about the lions and elephants in Kenya. I will miss you grandad and I am just so pleased that we have so many photos of us all, capturing moments we took for granted. Rare occasions when you'd join us for dinner or pub lunches. I will miss you questioning my job choices 'what the bloody hell do you want to look after old people for' hahaha, that one always made me laugh. Go to M&S you would say, 'just mention my name and you'll get a job'. I will miss you singing me the desert song. I will miss your Facebook presence, and teaching you about the world of YouTube.

Thank you Grandad for all that you have given me... I don't know where you are now, neither of us were churchy!! I can't say you're in heaven or with 'god'. But you're always going to be in my mind and even though you are gone now, those thoughts can never be taken. There is a part of you in me and that lives on in my children.

It was a pleasure to know you, be associated to you and be related to you. Rest in peace old boy love you x
