In loving memory of Michael "Mick" Massarella who sadly passed away on 1st July 2017
Mick was born in Wandsworth, London, the 4th of 5 brothers born to his parents Doreen and Joe. He moved with his family to Wallington, Surrey at the age of 2 and then to Carshalton Beeches aged 10. He attended Wallington High School for Boys where he was known as a keen sportsman, representing it at both football and rugby.
His first job on leaving school was at Lion Litho Printers in Carshalton, this was the beginning of his life-long love affair with the print trade. He went on to build his career in print production and sales at several companies most notably MP Printers of Thame, Oxfordshire, where he spent 2 periods including his final position as Sales Manager.
Mick was married to Mandy with whom he had 2 children, Molly and Joe. Those 22 years were spent in Carshalton before moving to Thame and finally back to Sutton. Mick had a 3rd child, Leo with his partner Julie and lived for many years with them in Haywards Heath, West Sussex.
Mick was always a talented and enthusiastic footballer playing for, among other teams, Risborough Rangers, Merton Saints, Corinthian Casuals, Thame United and Brill United. Those who knew Mick would never be in any doubt that he was a fanatical follower of Crystal Palace FC travelling far and wide with his family and friends to watch them play.
Above all else, Mick was a devoted father for whom his children were always the number one priority. He is sadly missed by all who were privileged to know him.
Mick's family request no flowers but would appreciate any donation to the British Heart Foundation via this page, thank you.
