In loving memory of Violet Scully who sadly passed away on 10th June 2017 aged 81 years. Born and brought up in Lincoln, she was the 6th of 8 children. Violet also had several jobs in the City. She was a telephonist for British Telecom, a counter clerk for the Post Office and a post lady delivery mail to North Hykeham. Other jobs included being a house parent at a children's home in Horncastle and at Dr. Banardo's in Barkingside, Essex. Violet attended church at Newland Congregational Church (where she was married to Muir Scully in 1960) which then joined with St Andrews Presbyterian Church to become St Andrews with Newland URC. Many families grew up together and joined in many activities such as Saturday Badminton club and 8 O'clock club. Violet and Muir raised four children, Julia, Andrew, Helen and Robert. Julia lives and works in the Netherlands and has 2 children and 2 grandchildren. Andrew lives in Branston and has 2 children and 1 grandchild. Helen lives in North Hykeham has 2 children. Robert married and Lived near Huntingden but was tragically killed in a road accident in 2006. Violet enjoyed entertaining her 6 grandchildren with fun and games in the family home or at the local park. When Violet moved into the flat complex in Branston she brought her love of games with her and joined in all the activities that went on there. She enjoyed carpet curling, dominoes, darts and bingo. Even during her illness, Violet wanted to attend these activities to keep the numbers up and encourage others to play. Violet also enjoyed holidays around the UK and abroad. Places such as Ausrtia and Spain were visited. Devon and Scotland were frequently visited too. Violet was always the centre of the family news. Christmas letters were always filled with the news of the family for that year to many friends and family.
