In loving memory of Alfred George Butcher "Fred", wonderful father, grandfather and great grandfather, who sadly passed away on 19th March 2017 at the age of 91.
Fred was a person who would always bring life into the room and had a ready wit for all occasions; he emanated love, pride and respect for all. A person you could count on to be truly supportive and provide sound advice.
He nurtured and loved his family, and continued in the same vein with his extended Australian family for whom he had great love and affection. With such a big family to love he still managed to enjoy a very active lifestyle with many hobbies, and loved to travel, living every moment to the fullest extent.
A much loved, gentle, man who will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

My boys Ryan and BJ grew up knowing you like another grandpa, we were always so excited when you arrived from the otherside of the world once a year, you presence was always felt as you were gentle kind loving and fun. I remember Mum telling you to dress up so you could get upgraded to first class on Qantas though really you were always the best dressed man in the world so it didn't need much tweaking!!! I heard about your passing whilst I was up in the Whitsunday Islands, and on my walk that morning I was thinking about you and a butterfly landed on my shoulder truly, so I take from that your spirit is at peace...

We have many fond memories of wonderful Fred in Sydney with the Scotts family (our daughter Alice is married to Anthony). Back home in England, Fred invited us to a spend a happy day with him and Jan. So happy to have known you, dear Fred.
