In loving memory of Janet Susan Chalmers who sadly passed away on 17th March 2017.

Jan, loving wife to Derrick, had a good life before being taken too soon. Jan visited all the places she wanted to see in her life, and loved being outside, and in recent years her allotment gave her a great deal of pleasure.

Jan always managed to retain her sense of humour, despite her terrible illness. She was very accepting of her fate, bravely facing it head on.

Jan's final wish was that she wanted to always be remembered by friends and family.

I feel very lucky to have had janet as my aunty. She was so caring, loving and a fun person to be around. She would do anything for anyone and was always there for me when I needed her, in good times and in bad. I loved how glamorous and stylish she was, but didn't realise her beauty. I loved her creativity and design skills. She was a huge part of our lives and I will treasure the memories I have. The teddy she gave Elliott is called 'remember' and that we will do. She always wanted me to know her childhood history and spoke to me a lot about family and places she had been. I will miss those conversations but will continue to find out more from mum! Janet (aka 'great' ) thank you for being you. My aunty and my friend. Be at peace and I hope you can look down on us xxxxxx

Janet was amazing and a great auntie.

Loving, caring and great at making people feel welcome and valued. I'll miss her dark sense of humour and her delicious puddings, which I struggle to believe she made.

I'm glad that the final time I saw her she was joyful in spite of her situation and cracking jokes with my mum and the staff at the hospital.

I miss her.
