I only had the pleasure of meeting my Auntie Kathleen once when I was 8 and visiting with my parents, but she and my Uncle Frank, would give me money to go to the Candy Wagon/Ice Cream truck (? I don't know what it was called), so that I could get Jelly Tots and I love them to this day! When my duaghter was born, Auntie Kathleen sent me a little sweater and knitted cap, and I cherished them. With my own mom having passed years before, it gave me a connection to her family. I still have it, and will someday give it to my grandchild. That started a short-lived but wonderful correspondence between us, and I really enjoyed getting her letters. She was a lovely woman, I wish I had known her better.

  • Thankyou Gail. That is lovely. My mum enjoyed receiving your letters. She loved writing letters. I remember the wee outfit she sent you well. She kept the photo you sent to her of Brianna wearing it. Lovely to hear you still have it x x
