In loving memory of Ian Stanley Fowler who sadly passed away on 25th December 2016, aged 47 years. Sadly missed by all family & friends. The funeral service will be held at Gornal Wood Crematorium on Monday 23rd January 2017 at 2.50pm. Family flowers only, donations if desired for British Kidney Patients Association. Enquiries care of Wombourne Funeral Services.

Ian was a loving, caring and thoughtful husband, son and father. He enjoyed life despite his illness, always smiling, laughing and having a joke. He had difficult and challenging times due to his renal failure but always stayed strong, he was a fighter but sadly this last challenge proved too much. There is an emptiness in our lives now but the memories Ian gave to us will always be cherished and he will remain in our hearts.

Mandy Cordwell donated £25 in memory of Ian

In memory of a wonderful brother-in-law who brought so much joy and laughter into everyone's life. xx

Ian, we have had the honour of living opposite you and Gina and Cameron for about 15 years, your willingness to help everyone even at times that you were clearly in pain never ceased to amaze me, your determination to keep busy and keep happy is an inspiration to me.
Your drive is always to best kept, the grass, the greenest ( even when it was real) , you kept the builders merchants in business and the fence paint companies!
I will miss our little chats on summer evenings in our cul de sac and knowing that you are there if we need you.
Rest in Peace and be assured of Gina needs us we will be here for her.

All our love Alex and Darren Alison xxx

I first had the pleasure of meeting Ian on my first day of work at Christs Hospital school almost 19 years ago where a great friendship was formed. He was quite a character then always laughing and joking something which never changed throughout the time I've known him. I had the great pleasure of having Ian as best man at my wedding four years ago which i know made the day more special for myself and Tracey. I will miss our telephone conversations which always brightened up my day. A great friend who will be deeply missed.

My wonderful husband Ian.

So many happy and lovely memories we share. You would not let anything stand in your way, a bit stubborn at times but you had your way of persuasion with those big blue eyes and cheeky smile, oh and yes, saying the right words of course " I Love You". Life was hard at times but we faced them together, the pain and the tears we shared but you were so strong and brave, you were my rock!

Remembering you is easy, I do it everyday, but missing you is a heartache that never goes away.

Love you always Gina ??xxx

Ian… the BIG man with the little name.
Sometimes, you go through life and you meet someone that livens your day. They don’t crop up that often and when they do, it’s like a bright light that is being switched on. Ian was a bright light.
Our lives are richer for having known Ian, albeit, sadly, for a relatively short time. Ian was working at one of our neighbours and Lynn asked him if he could help us. He was great to have around and literally…just got on with it, whatever wanted doing.
He was an extraordinary person in that he did not allow his illness to stand in life’s way and clearly enjoyed his work with the “soil”. Totally reliable and nothing was any trouble. A Star. An example.
Ian looked after our garden and when we moved out of the area and the sale fell through, Ian stepped in and took over and looked after the garden and kept his eye superbly. Knowing that he was “there” made a huge difference to being so far away from an empty property. He saved us much anxiety.
May you rest in peace Ian knowing the fine example you have set in the time we were allowed with you.
