Sian lived a full life by every standard; She was selfless, considerate and joyful throughout everything she did. Even after retirement, she still chose to complete a counselling course to become a psychotherapist, solely with the intention of helping people. Similarly, she was actively involved with the charity Crisis, year-round she worked tackling the issues surrounded with those sleeping rough, helping wherever she could; and at christmas, she volunteered at the Crisis at Christmas centres. Sian had many interests outside of work and family life, including a love of reading, socialising, music and theatre; over the past decade she especially loved seeing Einaudi perform, equally she loved Shakesperian plays, especially her trips to the globe and other theatres. She was always very passionate about gardening; every year she'd strive to explore the Chelsea Flower show and she would always return with a enthusiastic smile on her face. She succeeded in juggling a fulfilling career in the Department of Health and raising a happy family.

Sian was born in St Mary's hospital Paddington on 16 January 1957. Her early childhood was spent first in Maida Vale, then in Kingston-upon-Thames. The family later moved back to Wales where her sister Lisa was born. Sian was a bright child always keen to learn. On one occasion, when out to lunch in a café with her parents, her mother asked her what 6 x 12 was. She shot up her hand ready to answer - only to knock a tray carried by the waitress. Up in the air flew the fish fingers and peas - every where!!

A further move to Buckingham saw Sian continue her education at the Royal Latin School, where she made many good friends who remained in contact over the years. She then passed the Civil Service exam and joined what was then the Dept of Health and Social Security. She went full circle to take up the post back in London. The following years in the Civil service gave her many challenging roles, in training and policy sections, leading up to her recent early retirement.

Sian married Nick in May 1992 in Tortola, which is one of the beautiful British Virgin Islands; they have been happily married for over 20 years since, and they went on to have 2 lovely boys, Jamie and Tom. The family regularly went on holidays together to areas all over the world, however one of the favourites which they visited almost yearly, was Center Parcs, both in the UK and Holland. For many of these excursions, Sian's parents and friends joined the family.

She was a loving wife, mother and friend, who will be sadly missed by her family, friends and all who had the pleasure of meeting her.

For all those who would like to pay their respects, there will be a final viewing of Sian at Albins (52 Culling Road, London, SE16 2TN) between the hours of 11:00-17:00 on Monday 16th January, as this would have been the date of her 60th birthday.

On a final note, Sian stated before she passed, that rather than flowers from friends and loved ones, she would prefer donations to her chosen charities. Thank you for all your support.
