Hospice in the Weald
Funeral Director
In loving memory of Joleen Elizabeth Lord who sadly passed away on 2nd December 2016, aged 37 years.
She was a phenomenal wife, Mummy, Nanny, Sister, Auntie and daughter and special friend to many. She fought this dreadful disease for 8 years with a smile and a positive attitude. Never once did she let it get the better of her and even her last days she was determined to get up and get out of bed and not be ruled by her illness.
Despite the doctor telling her that it was impossible to run the London marathon whilst receiving chemotherapy, she still went ahead and completed it. After that, she then got the news that she would not be able to attend her own wedding or her last Gills game , however, this wasn't the answer she was willing to accept.
She filled all our lives with love, warmth, glamour and a zest for life and gave us reason to live and enjoy every moment and everything we had.
Jo said she didn't want flowers but rather a donations to "Hospice In The Weald". The Hospice looked after Jo in her final weeks with such dignity and care. All this care is done through fundraising. Donations can be sent c/o John Weir or made on-line via this page.
Jo's funeral will take place at the Garden of England Cremtorium on the 20/12 at 16.00 with the wake being held at Gillingham football club. Jo has requested the dress code to be football shirts, I appreciate that this may not be for everyone so please remember Jo's favourite colour was Royal (Gillingham) blue.
