In loving memory of Nicholas Baugh who sadly passed away on 1st December 2016

It is with great sadness that Nicky and I are having to announce that our Dad Nicholas Baugh passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, at the Marie Curie hospice in Bradford.

Our Dad was both caring and approachable and this was reflected in his relationships with his family and friends and also in his role as a psychiatric nurse. Throughout his life Dad was grateful for anything that anybody did for him always showing his appreciation for what he had and constantly supporting those around him even when he was suffering.

Dad had three grandchildren Ellie, Molly-Anne and Lennon he was an absolute rock supporting them through some very difficult times whilst creating the most brilliant memories and giving them all the love in the world.

His passion for nature was apparent in the crazy collection of pets that he had over the years, ranging from the usual dogs, cats, birds (parrots, love birds, chickens) a selection of reptiles that included an out of control boa constrictor. The boa had to be rehomed due to its size when fully grown at 7ft and because it attacked dad every time he fed it, on route to the animal park dad had put the said snake in a pillow case and whilst he was driving he looked down and saw it had managed to escape, so he had to pull over to contain this already angry constrictor. Our Aunty Diana was saying today that the old lady who lived next door had commented to their mum that if she saw Nick walking an elephant on a rope she wouldn't be shocked, which proved that his love of animals started from an early age.

Those of you who knew our Dad either just through a one time meeting, or for a number of years will remember him as a friendly instantly loveable guy that could talk the hind legs off a donkey. Good looking with smiley piercing blue eyes that turned the heads of many ladies. One of the biggest parts of his personality was his quick witted humour and his very typical dad jokes. (please if you remember any share them below). Feel free to share some memories below.

I miss you Nick.

The endless conversations we've had about everything and anything. The stories you loved to tell about your working days at Rampton Hospital (often repeated but just as interesting or hilarious as the first dozen times I heard them).
I'd love to hear your voice again, you taking the mick out of my "Yorkie" accent and repeating words in an exaggerated way!
Such a handsome fella, I miss seeing your smile which never faltered even in the darkest of times your smile would light up the room.
A caring and kind hearted man, never lost for words with a wicked sense of humour.
There'll be many reminders of you Nick, Boddingtons, Babycham, Bingo and Bieber to name a few, painful now but as time goes by they'll relate to good and happy memories.

"It takes a day to make a friend, a moment to lose them but a lifetime to forget them"

Thank you for being my friend.
Love Klaira

Yesterday, 19 December 2016 we said our final goodbye to our dad. Although attending dads funeral is the hardest thing I've ever had to do, I think the service did him proud and it was lovely to be able to put a face to the names that he often bought up in conversation.
I feel that a massive part of my life has been taken away from me, but having such a great dad gives us so many good memories and those cannot be taken away.
I am so proud of him, he remained so positive throughout his last months and put up such a courageous fight. His humour was there right until the end, while he was having his chemo or lying in bed at hospital we could've been anywhere just chatting.
You won't be forgotten by any of us. I will never have a can of boddies without thinking about our nights in putting the world to rights.
Love always Toby.

I knew Nick from being 7 years old (I am now 65) seems like my whole life.

In later years Nick's brother Chris married my sister Anne and so our friendship continued.

Nick was a true friend to me and helped me through a very sad and difficult time. I knew I could depend on his listening, understanding ear.

I am so very sad that he had to leave all the people he cared about and the people who cared for him.

Goodnight dear friend xx

Remembering the good and loving times we shared.

More recently the previou times we have spent over a pint or a glass of Pinot reminiscing and once again giving me the opportunity to enjoyi your lovely humour, charm and warmth.

More than anything thanks for the best kids (Nicky and Toby) imaginable and our beautiful grandchildren , Ellie, Molly-Ann and Lennon. We are so fortunate...

I'll miss not knowing that you're still in the world.
