In loving memory of Brian Ernest Heathfield who sadly passed away on 9th November 2016.

It is with great sadness that Brenda, Adele and Adrian wish to announce the passing of Brian at the University Hospital of Wales. Brian was a stalwart, in the truest sense of the word, of Barry Athletic Football Club (formerly Cadoxton Albion FC). A former player, Secretary, Chairman, (barman, cleaner, groundsman, chip fryer etc) and more recently a very proud President. Devoted husband to Brenda, much loved Dad of Adele and Adrian, Father-in-Law to Deanna and Rob, wonderful Bampi to Olivia, Charlotte, Aron and Joseph. Brian was also the adored brother of the late June, Sylvia, Barbara, Jimmy and Stephen and Uncle/Great Uncle to his many nieces and nephews.

To say he will be greatly missed by all his family and friends would be a huge understatement.

Brian is in the care of Lyndsay Ellis @ The Vale Funeral Services, 181 Court Road, Barry until a celebration of his life at All Saints Church, Park Road, Barry, CF62 6QW, on Wednesday 23rd November at 1:30pm, followed by burial at Barry Cemetery. You are then invited to join us to continue the celebration of his life at the Barry West End Club, St Nicholas Road, Barry, CF62 6QY.

Knowing what Brian's views were, we have decided to request no floral tributes. Instead, we would be most grateful for donations in lieu to be made at the service. All donations will go to support the much needed repairs and improvements for Barry Athletic Football Club, which as many will know was a real passion of his and gave him many hours of enjoyment (when they won!).

We are recently the coaches for the new under 10's section for our club and unfortunately we're not able to meet this great gentleman, he was clearly a well respected man and a pillar in the football community particularly at Cadoxton and now Barry Athletic. We are extremely proud to be part of his legacy and able to continue his hard work and efforts to enable many boys of all ages to continue enjoying the game now and well into the future. Rest in Peace Brian. Steve Crockford, Mark Barry and Jamie Watkins.

Brian it was a pleasure to work alongside you for many years over the Ath. You were a true stalwart of the club and gave everything you had to the football section. You will be sadly missed by all of us who had the pleasure to play and be with you. My thoughts are with Brenda, Adrian and Adele at this sad time. RIP mate.
